Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.
Created in 2007 DarkChat began as an idea for some friends to share their experiences of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with each other on a nightly basis, discussing the shows they had seen that day.
Fast forward and this has evolved into an online review site with the discussions provided to the wider world as well as our slightly inebriated friends.
We also enjoy the DarkChat Awards at the end of each Fringe Festival. It's not quite a Perrier Award (but then what is nowadays?) but we enjoy debating who should receive them and if we can make someone feel a little bit warmer about their show then why not!!
The Eagle has landed!
Well perhaps not an Eagle, but a shiny new Fringe programme at least, meaning that the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe is getting ever nearer. No sooner had it dropped onto our doormat was it opened thumbed, penned and highlighted. Expect more of this over the coming weeks as we try and trim over 3,500 shows into something that we can manage to watch, digest and review in a little over a week.
You will of course be thrilled to hear that the DarkChat flat occupees have been confirmed with Coxes, David & Anne, returning for the 12th successive year and Carl, Kate, Dylan & Harri Baldwin returning once again, our youngest two DarkChatters experiencing their fifth taste of the Fringe despite only having turned 9 a few weeks ago.
Now with the DarkChat machinery cranking into life if anyone wants to drop us a request for an interview or review let us know now. We've already been out watching preview shows (reviews to follow) and have some interesting interviews in the pipeline up so watch this space.
Don't forget our motto "We like to be entertained".
Awards, awards, awards!
Each year at the end of the Fringe we dish out that DarkChat Awards and 2017 was no different, so as we prepare for 2018 take a look back at what won us over last year.
Jessica Fostekew took the main prize with her brilliant tales of entertaining geriatrics on board a cruise ship, while How To Win Against History was the biggest winner of the night with a total of 3 awards.
